Plastic Galaxy is a documentary that explores the groundbreaking and breathtaking world of Star Wars toys. Through interviews with former Kenner employees, experts, authors, and collectors, it looks at the toys’ history, their influence, and the fond and fervent feelings they elicit today.

The film, which will be released on DVD, also includes tours of some of the top collections -- comprising prototypes, bootlegs, foreign toys, and all manner of surprises. DVD extras, including micro-documentaries and extended interviews, make Plastic Galaxy a prize for not only newer fans, but also long-time collectors.

Two of the most iconic characters in Gearbox’s phenomenal space western game, Borderlands, are scheduled for arrival in your favorite toy stores late May.

Earlier this week, we sent a couple of samples to the developers, and they liked it so much they posted a pic on their Fan page. So today, we want to show you a bit more about Series 1.

The Claptrap Action Figure

"Welcome to Fyrestone! I am CL4P-TP, you may call me by my locally designated name, ‘Claptrap’."

As stewards of Pandora, these robots can really only offer help if you take time to repair them. Our Claptrap figure, however, has not been damaged by Bandits and ships with a base, perfect for displaying it on your desk. See pics below:

Psycho Bandit Action Figure

These outlaws can be immediately identified by their homicidal cries, psychotic laughter and constant desire to get into close combat. Their orange pants are easily spotted and often, it’s not a good idea to come too close as Psycho Bandits love to bite.

New Masters of the Universe Licensees Announced

DST Announces Universal Monsters Series 3

There are a lot of traditions that happen every Halloween, but Diamond Select Toys has created a new one — 7-inch Universal Monsters action figures! At comic shops and specialty stores, horror fans will be able to pick up a highly detailed Metaluna Mutant from 1955’s This Island Earth. With his bulging brain and claws, he conveys all the menace of the movie creature, and he even comes with the Interocitor, the device that allows humans to contact the Metalunans. Alongside the Metaluna Mutant will be the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera (1925), complete with his massive organ, which he plays in the catacombs of the opera house. Both will be available in the oversized Select display packaging, with side panel art perfect for storing on a shelf.

Toys “R” Us will get their own exclusive figure in the Invisible Man, from the 1933 film of the same name. Jack Griffin is depicted with his goggles and false nose, and comes with a small display base. Toys “R” Us will also get a variation on the Phantom of the Opera, one that wears a coat and mask, and comes with a violin and music stand instead of the organ. There will also be a more basic version of the Metaluna Mutant at Toys “R” Us, minus the Interocitor. All of these figures will come in smaller blister-card packaging.
