DA28 Striker Optimus Prime Revealed

This figure, as far as we know, has not been labeled as a Japanese exclusive, yet. With that said, is Striker Optimus Prime a figure you would like to see stateside? It is a retooled leader class figure. Like Jetwing Optimus Prime, it uses a retooled Revenge Of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime as a base, however this one seems to retain the swords. This is also the 1st figure to feature the blaster that Prime is often seen wielding in the various movie posters/ads within recent months, and only one to come with a shield.

Revoltech Optimus Prime Weapons Revealed

Another tidbit revealed in the same article seems to be that the sword also uses a Revoltech peg to plug into the arm, taking the place of a hand.

That’s a good break point, but I promised some of the TRANSFORMERS tale, not just the prequel, so I’ll press on for a while.

Some months later, the Hasbro exec who was Marvel’s main contact, Bob Prupis, came to my office. He pulled a few toy vehicles out of his bag and proceeded to open and unfold them into ROBOTS.

They were bigger and much more complex than the Mysterions. Different Japanese technology, same general idea.

Hasbro, he said, had the rights to the technology and toys based upon it. The problem, he said was story. He said that the Japanese storyline associated with the toys wasn’t useful. Japanese kids, apparently, don’t require much justification. Cars become robots, robots become cars. Well, of course they do. What do you mean, “why?”

Kapow Toys has announced through their blog that there will be an upcoming black repaint of the MP-09 Rodimus Convoy to be released later this year as a webshop exclusive. There have yet to be any pictures as well as a concrete release date or price.

Alternity Redeco Names and Release Dates
